Instructions for Foreign Visitors Coming to India

Please read the following instructions carefully:

  1. Please ensure you have a valid visa to visit India.
  2. Do not drink water anywhere, including airports, unless it has been given to you by our staff or served to you in a proper hotel (water served in a non proper looking hotel may not be OK).
  3. Any water that you drink must be given to you in a sealed bottle. Even if the bottle in opened in front of you, do not drink it, unless you open it yourself.
  4. When by yourself, only drink bottled water purchased from a big shop/proper hotel (not a small tiny roadside vendor as it could be a spurious)
  5. Do not eat raw vegetables (including salad) anywhere in India as it is washed with water which is not clean.
  6. Do not have sea food at any place other than a 5 star hotel. Try to avoid it in the initial days.
  7. Only eat fruits where the skin is removed by you personally.
  8. For small snacks or meals go to McDonald's or Pizza Hut.
  9. Avoid non-vegetarian food in non 5 star hotels
  10. Only eat cooked food which has been prepared fresh
  11. In case of a problem, go to Apollo Hospital, Near Jasola, New Delhi (011 ?26925858) and get yourself treated
  12. Taxis charge about Rs. 300 to go from one location to another which is 20 minutes away/10 km away. Uber works in Delhi.
  13. Most taxi drivers do not speak English but will understand addresses given to them in writing
  14. If taking the taxi from the airport, take the prepaid taxi from the Government Taxi Stall (found inside the airport building itself). It takes about 1.5 hours to reach our office from the airport.
  15. We only tip in restaurants and tipping is about 10% of the bill
  16. People in khaki colored uniform are policemen and not army men. If they stop your taxi, cooperate with them, they are usually nice.
  17. When people look at you/stare at you they are just being curious and usually do not have any bad intentions.
  18. Please feel free to call Sanjeev 24 hours a day if you have any problems.

In this trip you will cover the following:

  5. Drive around in Connaught Place (20th Century Market Place)
  6. Visit Agrasen Ki Baoli (Near KG Marg and Hailey Road)
  7. Janpath (Souvenirs Market, to purchase Souvenirs)
  8. Drive around India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan (President's House)
  9. Qutab Minar (Tower - closes at Sun Set)
  10. Lotus Temple (Closes by 5 pm)
  11. Delhi Hatt (Inexpensive Souvenirs Market)
  12. Select City Mall (21st Century Market Place)

Taj Mahal (Agra) (1 day)

This is the world famous Taj Mahal.
Amarvilas is an excellent hotel and features in the top 10 hotels of the world.
Taj Mahal can be a day trip and you do not need to stay the night at Agra.
We recommend the following itinerary:

  1. Hotel pickup 6 am
  2. See Taj Mahal 10 am
  3. Have Lunch at Amarvilas 12 noon
  4. See Agra Fort 2 pm
  5. See Fatehpur Sikri 4 pm
  6. Reach Back Delhi 10 pm

It is closed on Friday.

Jaipur (2 days)

This has many forts and interesting shopping areas.

Rambagh Palace and Rajvilas are excellent hotels and feature in the top hotels of the world.

Hill City (Simla) (3 days)

This is a quaint city about 5 hours train journey from Delhi followed by 3 hours cab drive. This used to be the summer capital of India during the British Raj.

Wildflower Hall is an excellent hotel but is about 30 minutes away from Simla. Cecil is wonderful and in Simla. Clarks is an OK hotel with proper food and perfectly located on the mall. We recommend the Clarks.
